INNATE PERFECTION

Our bodies are inherently perfect and whole exactly as they are. We are taught that illness is a mistake, an error in cellular function that must be fixed or destroyed or removed. The truth of the matter is that our bodies are superiorly intelligent and know exactly how to restore balance as needed. What complicates our biological function are our thoughts and emotions.

In Classical Chinese Medicine, it is believed that our bodies are incapable of making a mistake. Every move the body makes is simply a response - to food, to thought, to choice, to emotions, to the weather, to our genetic map. In contrast, by today’s measure of health, we are taught that our bodies are inadequate as they are - that we need to supplement at length with supplements, wellness shots, green juices, face oils, and prescriptions. We have developed an aversion to death and have prescribed to anti-aging regimens as a way to prolong life.

But what if we shifted our focus from living longer to living fully? A redirect to quality of life versus quantity of days? And what if the answer to cultivating vitality is simply to allow our bodies the freedom to recalibrate?
